In The Beginning...

In The Beginning...

Well we have to start somewhere and I suppose here is as good a place as any.

My name is Mark Byrne, a down to earth country lad working in the big smoke (Melbourne, Australia) as an accountant, I'm a man who continuously dreams of adventure and doesn't mind an occasional touch of the amber ale.

I'm sick to death of waking up every morning realizing that work is only 1/2 an hour away and will probably be that way for the next 30 years...scary isn't it. So I'm not one to sit around and accept, I've decided to do something about it and have a drink while I'm doing it.

The Mission: To ride my good old pushbike from North America to South America and back again, sampling the many cosmopolitan beverages across both continents. I will keep you all informed of the good, bad and ugly bevies through out this adventure, with a hope of appreciating that the best cold beer is Vic.

This is my story, from start to finish.

I hope you can join me for One for the Road.

What an adventure. This sounds fabulous. I cannot wait to read the chronicles of your trip across the Americas!
Please keep your blog updated with the pest pints (as they say in Ireland) along the way.

I cannot wait to read more!

Sorry---I meant BEST pints as opposed to pest pints. Sometimes the brain works faster than the fingers!

Cheers!
